Description of the works.
1. Lay 3 tanks 162m length of Triple concrete pipes to provide storage.
2. Install new 525 diameter sewer pipe
3. Connect into existing sewer system.
4. Construct a new Flowlimiter Chamber and flowlimiting device.
5. Decommission existing CSO.
6. Construct new CSO Chamber and fit new Screen.
The project will provide extra underground storage for raw sewage to alleviate overflow in storm conditions. The system will provide a modified combined sewage outlet system fitted with a new screen and a Flowlimiter device.
Brynafon Road.
The scope of the work involves the construction of underground sewage storage tanks, comprising of triple 18000mm diameter concrete pipes. Other works involve the construction of a new flowlimiter chamber. Also involved is the installation of a new 525mm internal diameter pipe.

The works site at Brynafon Road has an element of highway works and is set within a residential area with the main road heavily used by commuters and lorries, to and from Penyrheol and Gorseion. The main section of works being in a field with the main access via Brynafon Road which is used by the residents in the neighbouring housing estates.
Opposite the proposed site entrance is a residential home for the elderly.
